A bit of background and history from Cal Phillips and Eco Paint Specialist's, Inc.
Starting back in 1977, Cal started Cal's Home Improvements. Starting a home improvement business early in life was just as rewarding as it is now, mainly helping local community take care of home repairs, and concerns, having that building trade born in him for two prior generations. Getting his self through college, this was a perfect part-time job, doing various jobs from electrical, plumbing, drywall, siding repair and siding replacement to house painting services.
Enjoying being outside, a residential exterior painting job was always welcomed. Bought his first airless spray rig back in 82', which was a Graco 495 Sherwin-Williams Nova. It came in very handy, instead of using the pot gun with compressor, always having to re-fill 1 qt. pot. It was at that point, Cal was really on to something. As a Handy-man, in the general home improvement field, it seemed like every job completed, included some degree of residential painting, which he enjoyed most of all. Having a much smaller operation back then, had already completed 100's of interior painting jobs, as well as exterior ones. By 1980 it became apparent house painting was Cal's speciality. When Cal decided to do this, he made a commitment to his self and community that he wanted to be the Best this industry has to offer for that particular sector of home improvement.
By 1993, Cal changed from Cal's Home Improvement and sole proprietor, to Eco Paint Specialist's Inc. Incorporating the term Eco Paint into company name, being the originator of the term way before Green Earth Friendly Eco Paint was invented as a retail item. The acronym Eco meant economical as well as ecological, using lower Volatile Odor Content paints, while keeping the painting cost it's lowest for the consumer. Today, Eco Paint Specialist's has a new company name, being a household name and familiar to everyone as Eco Paint Inc. How appropriate being the originator of the term, leading the house painting industry.
